The position will involve delivering our programmes in schools and universities to students and staff. Our programmes cover the full secondary school relationships and sex ed curriculum. Including, but not limited to: anatomy; sexual & reproductive health; consent, relationships; sexual violence, and identity, sexuality & gender.
Our approach is intersectional, feminist, inclusive, and non-judgemental. We support young people and those working with them to ensure everyone has access to a complete, inclusive and comprehensive sex education.
We can offer £130 per day, rising to £150 once training is complete (6-8 months).
Locations: London and South West England.
We are looking for someone available to start immediately, with work for 4-10 days a month. All training will be provided.
The ideal candidate
Can demonstrate a knowledge of and a commitment to inclusive relationships and sexuality education (RSE),
Have experience (paid or voluntary) of working with young people (11-16 years) to support and advocate for them,
Can demonstrate that they would be able to present our workshop materials on a range of RSE topics in an engaging way for students,
Are able to answer students’ questions in an honest and empathic but boundaried way,
Are organised and willing/ able to travel to schools at different sites, often involving early morning starts and occasional overnight stays (travel and accommodation for school visits are paid for by the charity),
We are particularly keen to hear from people who meet the above criteria, as well as having lived experience of racism, ableism and/ or transmisogyny. This is because people with these experiences are underrepresented in the RSE sector.

The Press & Communications Manager will be responsible for producing content about School of Sexuality Education for our different communications channels, and leading on media activities for the charity, with support from a team of volunteers. We are looking for someone with solid experience in press and communications, who is organised and comfortable working in a busy environment with multiple deadlines.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Oversee the development and implementation of key communications strategies.
Act as a first point-of-call for social media volunteers, supervising their outputs and offering guidance and advice before feeding back to the CEO.
Produce well-written engaging copy for blogs, social media, and other content pieces for a range of audiences.
Provide guidance on campaigns and share the charity’s success stories or testimonials.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with journalists across a range of broadcast, print and digital media outlets.
Write and publish compelling, and engaging press releases.
Manage crisis communications, including preparing and executing statements to protect the brand’s reputation.
The ideal candidate
Significant experience in communications and media relations.
Experience in the usage and implementation of social media content calendars and management systems/scheduling platforms.
Excellent writing skills and proven copywriting ability
Strong organisational skills with an ability to juggle short-term, tight deadlines with longer term projects
Experience in developing and executing PR strategies, across multiple media platforms and with a range of stakeholders.
This is a freelance role and the rate will be £150 a day.
The post is initially until January 2025.
We are looking for someone available to start in August, with work for 4- days a month. All training will be provided.

To support delivery of our dynamic Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) project for d/Deaf young people, and our new d/Deaf teacher training programme!
Main duties and responsibilities
To have awareness and understanding of d/Deaf culture and specific issues relating to the education of d/Deaf people;
To advise the team, and schools on appropriate communication strategies when working with d/Deaf students / clients;
Maintain a high standard of presentation whilst representing School of Sexuality Education;
Attend any relevant training or meetings.
Delivering School of Sexuality Education programmes:
Delivering d/Deaf RSE programmes in schools which are compliant with School of Sexuality Education’s approach, policies and procedures, including Safeguarding;
Acting as an ambassador for the charity during interactions with all external parties.
The ideal candidate
will have proven experience working with d/Deaf young people;
a strong existing knowledge of Deaf culture and specific issues relating to the education of d/Deaf people;
a passion for inclusive and comprehensive relationships and sex education!
This is a freelance role and the rate will be £150 a day for project work

We’re looking for someone to join our advisory board to support with all things public relations! As a PR Adviser, you will play a key role in developing our relationship with the media and the public.
The PR Adviser would:
Champion and exemplify School of Sexuality Education’s values, mission and vision.
Quickly gaining knowledge of School of Sexuality Education’s brand identity, as well as our educational programmes and other work.
Working with the CEO and Trustees to build and manage a PR strategy for School of Sexuality Education.
Provide guidance on pitching stories and securing media coverage.
Help manage media coverage, prepare press releases, and support the team in responding to media inquiries effectively.
We are looking for people to commit to 1-2 hours a week.

School of Sexuality Education is a young charity looking to appoint up to four new Trustees who share our values and mission. We have grown rapidly over the past six years and now employ a small team that works to deliver relationships and sex education programmes on a national scale.
We are looking for new Trustees who can fill the skills gaps, as well as contribute new ideas, thereby strengthening and complementing the existing skills base of the Board.
The ideal candidate
School of Sexuality Education is looking for candidates who can help consolidate our existing operations as well as scaling further. We are interested in candidates from a range of backgrounds, but particularly those with expertise in UK law, bid writing, fundraising, PR, and large charities.
Our values are important to us and we expect our team including Trustees to model our approach of inclusivity and passion for social justice. As a charity working with young people all team members must understand the importance of safeguarding children.
Terms of Appointment
This role is unremunerated; however, reimbursement is made for all reasonable expenses with regard to Trustees’ duties on behalf of the charity. The appointment will be for four years from October 2023 with a standard extension of a further four years, subject to reappointment.
Board meetings take place virtually at a minimum every 3 months. These are sometimes supplemented by focused single issue meetings in line with the organisation’s needs at the time.
